In July 2017 Washington (WA) state became the fifth state to establish Paid Family and Medical Leave (PFML). As a worker in WA state you will be eligible for PFML starting in 2020 and will be subject to pay premiums starting in January 2019. WA state workers and employers cannot waive participation in this program.
